Per Kevin Weekes, the Devils and Miles Wood have agreed on a 2 year contract avoiding arbitration. AAV unknown as of now. |

Man you’re quick - MartysBetter88
That's what she said...
But Seriously - not feeling very generous to Miles Wood and his wonky hip(s)....
Normally wouldn't think his ask was a big deal but this should be on the lower end in my opinion. At least they don't seem too far apart. |

1 year, 3.2M for Wood. They avoid arbitration and he will be a pending UFA at the end of the season.
Now down to either 73k or 228k in cap space(depending which 7th D is on the roster) with a full roster and before Bernier LTIR. Zetterlund still needs a new deal as well. Gotta figure a cap dump comes at some point before the season. |

See ya Miles. He’s not worth more than that 3.2M and will only want more than that as a UFA. This isn’t Blake Coleman. Unless he blows me away I’m saying peace and love to this guy in the spring. |

Johnsson & Tatar are tough moves in todays cap crunch world. Just seeing Bjorkstrand basically given away says volumes. Patches doesn't count as he is expensive & always injured & overrated. |

Huberdeau will be in Calgary for the next 9 years....CALGARY! I don't understand why "top guys don't want to live in NJ" but bum-(frank), nothing to do, Calgary can entice a 115 pt Huberdeau to waste his career there to never win a Cup. Obviously, we were never in the run for Huberdeau, it's just weird that being in the middle of nowhere wasn't a bigger factor in him resigning.
Same with JG taking LESS money, to play on a WORSE team and live further from home and also will NEVER win a Cup with the blue jackets. No, I'm not salty about JG not coming here, I'm pissed that there's some stupid ass stigma about NJ like you can't be in Manhattan in 35 mins from Newark. JG is just the latest example in what has been going on for too many years.
Either players are full of (poop) or incredibly stupid. Probably both. |

Nj has nice areas and is close to Manhattan.. but where you go to work every day is a dump. Newark is terrible. So yea you practice or play the game.. but then you have to get in your car and drive over the bridge or whatever.. cuz you’re not doing anything in freaking Newark. That city does nothing to inspire, so maybe that’s part of it idk. |

I still don't see how going to a poophole like Columbus is a better alternative. Again, not to harp on JG, but we see this idiot trend all over the league. I'm sick of the posers bandwagoning on hating NJ. |

I don’t get it either. I’ve never been to Columbus. I just can’t imagine a city less inspiring than Newark.. a dangerous dump. And what surrounds Newark? Highways and an airport (which is good to get away from it..), and industrial or rundown nonsense. Idk. I haven’t been to all the other cities, but I feel like I’d rather play anywhere else besides Newark based on location. I think our fans and the building are fine. It’s just trash everywhere else. |

Columbus is actually pretty nice. I've been there many times and always had a good time. |
